Free/Reduced School Meal Program

All preschool programs receive free lunch.

If your student is in the AM session, they will receive free breakfast everyday. If your student is in the PM session, they will receive free lunch everyday.

To view your students menu:

1. Go to the district website, edmonds.wednet.edu,

2. Hover over the families tab, then click on Menus (see picture above)

3. Click on Alderwood Early Childhood Center

4. Under ‘Which menu would you like to view?’ click on either Preschool Breakfast Menu or Preschool Lunch Menu depending on if your student is in AM or PM.

You can click on any of the food items on the menu and the nutrition facts will pop up. From the side bar on the right side of the page, you can also view information on dietary preferences, filter allergens, and select your home language. There will be food substitutions provided if you have indicated allergens to the school nurse. We strongly encourage students to participate in our mealtimes. We practice family style meals which have many benefits, including practicing fine motor skills, engaging in social interactions with peers, and also promotes language development.

Lastly, even though preschool lunch is free for all programs, it is still extremely important that families fill out the Free & Reduced Lunch application.

There are a few reasons for this:

  1. There will be another summer EBT program. Your student must qualify for free & reduced lunch services in order to qualify for this program.
  2. Much of the school district's funding is based on free & reduced lunch percentages. The higher the percentage, the more funding our school will receive.
  3. Lastly, there are many other community services (such as Clothes For Kids) that are available for families with students who qualify for free & reduced lunch

The Food & Nutrition Department also has a toll free number for any food service related questions: 1-888-689-2702.
