Schools & Translation


The Edmonds School District’s Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (pronounced as "E-cap") is a state-funded FREE preschool program for qualifying 3 and 4-year old children and their families.

ECEAP is a comprehensive program that focuses on the well-being of the whole child. A team of specialists collaborate with parents to provide:


  • Preschool experience focusing on the needs of the whole child
  • Activities which build self-esteem, social, emotional, and physical skills
  • Highlights the strengths and diversity of each individual child
  • 10:1 child-teacher ratio
  • Support for dual language learners

Health and Nutrition

  • Medical, dental, vision and hearing screenings
  • Nutritious family-style meals
  • Health and nutrition education for children and families

Family Support

  • Parenting classes
  • Assistance to develop and meet family goals
  • Resources and referrals to community agencies
  • Connect with job training and employment programs
  • Learn to advocate for your child's needs


Enrolling in ECEAP
